Brent Basden’s clients come to him when their reputations are on the line. Brent has represented law firms nationwide before judges and juries when faced with professional liability claims.
In addition to his professional liability practice, Brent has a robust commercial litigation and arbitration practice, routinely representing his corporate clients in breach of contract and tortious interference cases. Brent also has experience with white-collar matters and has represented corporations in internal investigations and whistleblower complaints.
Prior to joining Stanton LLP, Brent was a partner at Koning Rubarts and a litigation associate at K&L Gates. He has been recognized as a Texas Rising Star by the publishers of Texas Super Lawyers from 2012-2017 and named a “Best Lawyer in Dallas” by D Magazine in 2017.
Before graduating magna cum laude from Baylor Law School, Brent practiced as a CPA at a Big 4 accounting firm. An experience that gives him an edge in mastering the facts of his business clients’ cases and communicating them effectively during courtroom arguments and trials.
When he isn’t cheering for his daughters, Katie and Maggie, at their dance recitals and basketball games, he’s cheering for the Baylor Bears at every home game (and the occasional away game). His ties to Baylor run deep. In addition to attending law school, undergrad, and master’s programs, his wife, Erin, is the Assistant Director of the Baylor Executive MBA Program.
Brent is on the board of directors of the Lake Highlands Exchange Club and spends his family vacations skiing with his daughters in Colorado to escape the Texas heat.
